Phex 3.4.2 released
Written by Arne Babenhauserheide
Sunday, 01 February 2009
Today the Phex development group is happy to announce the release of Phex 3.4.2.
This is a minor release, yet it contains some tasty improvements.

The changes since Phex 3.4.0 are:

  • Less wait time for the first connections,
  • Strong leafs become Ultrapeers,
  • Automatic reconnect on network failure.

And a few squashed bugs.

But even though Phex made good progress, we want it to evolve even faster, and so we're searching for additional developers who want to join us in development.

If you want to contribute to Phex, please come into our forums or meet us in IRC via #phex @ freenode.net.

A poll on Your wishes
Written by Arne Babenhauserheide
Monday, 14 May 2007
We just started two new polls to find out into which direction you want Phex to move.
Please take a moment to read through the polls and select your favourite feature.

We've divided the question into two sets.
The first one includes features which can be implemented in half a year.
The second one shows four big items which will take a lot of time and energy to implement, so we need to be careful which direction we take.

Those are big decisions for Phex, and we want to include you into these decisions, so please vote to make your input count.

If you want to add more feedback, or if you want to offer your help, please visit us in the Phex-forum.

Also we're always searching for people who like to help us in shaping the Phex-Wiki into a universal knowledgebase for Phex and Gnutella.

: Open your newly created registry file inside a text editor like Notepad. Inspect the header directories. For example, older tools target legacy paths like: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\NEWHASP\...] You must manually update these string structures to reflect modern virtual paths like: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Multikey\Dumps\...]

Now comes the core step where UniDumpToReg does its job.

The tool acts as a bridge between raw data extracted from a hardware key and the Windows Registry, which software emulators use to mimic that key's presence. : Open your newly created registry file inside

The result is an (typically around 100 KB in size) that contains the extracted and decrypted dongle data ready for conversion. The file is often named after the dongle’s ID, such as 1234.ssp .

Decodes algorithms from varying generations including HASP4, HASP HL, and Hardlock tokens.

At its core, unidumptoreg.24 is a conversion utility. It is designed to take a Unicode dump file—a raw export of data often extracted from memory or specific application storage—and convert it into a standard Windows Registry format (usually a .reg file). : Automatically structures data based on standard payload

The term unidumptoreg.24 brings together the UniDumpToReg tool and a specific data file, illustrating a process at the heart of dongle emulation. For system administrators, security researchers, and developers, this technique offers a powerful way to understand hardware-based software protection, create backups, and facilitate testing. However, due to the legal complexities surrounding its use, it should only be employed by knowledgeable professionals with a legitimate reason and proper authorization.

: Allows modifications to specific header parameters, such as changing network user limits or license expiration dates directly during conversion. 📋 Step-by-Step Conversion Workflow
