Total War Attila Android !new! Official
You can download Total War: Attila from the Google Play Store. Requires Android 13+ and 18GB free space. Supports external controllers (Xbox/PS) for battle controls only.
However, the mobile Total War landscape is rapidly evolving. Feral Interactive, the studio responsible for bringing these historical epics to mobile, continues to expand their lineup (recently expanding the franchise with Napoleon: Total War on mobile platforms).
When Creative Assembly released Total War: Attila for PC in 2015, it was met with a mixture of awe and dread. Unlike the heroic empire-building of Total War: Rome II , Attila was a survival horror game disguised as a historical strategy title. It threw players into the chaotic collapse of the Western Roman Empire, where climate change, famine, disease, and the terrifying advance of the Huns turned the traditional “conquer the map” objective into a desperate fight for survival. total war attila android
However, the company has a proven track record. Their previous ports, such as Rome: Total War and Medieval II , have demonstrated that the core Total War experience can translate effectively to touchscreens. While the precision of a mouse and keyboard is lost, Feral has implemented intuitive touch controls for camera movement, unit selection, and issuing commands.
For years, the idea of running such a computationally intense game on an Android device seemed like a fantasy. The campaign map alone, with its dynamic fires, migrating hordes, and intricate province management, was a challenge for even mid-range PCs. However, with the rapid advancement of mobile chipset technology (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 3, Dimensity 9200, and Apple’s A-series chips), Feral Interactive—the legendary porting house—stepped up to the plate. In late 2023 and into 2024, Feral delivered what many thought impossible: a native, no-compromises port of Total War: Attila for high-end Android tablets and phones. Total War Attila Android: The State of Play, Ports, and Mobile Strategy
Creative Assembly and Feral Interactive (the masters of mobile ports) have successfully brought Total War: ROME and Total War: MEDIEVAL II to Android. More recently, Total War: EMPIRE and Total War: ROME: BATTLE COLLECTION have made the jump. However, Attila remains exclusively on PC, macOS, and Linux. However, the mobile Total War landscape is rapidly evolving
The core formula of Total War —a seamless blend of turn-based grand strategy and real-time tactics—remains intact in Attila , albeit with significant overhauls tailored to its apocalyptic theme.
Advanced users use tools like Winlator or Mobox to run the Windows version of the game on high-end Android devices (e.g., Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or newer).
An official mobile port is not entirely out of the question. Feral Interactive continues to bring older PC titles to mobile devices as smartphone chips grow more powerful. Because Total War: EMPIRE made its way to mobile, it proves that complex empire management can work beautifully on modern mobile architecture.
Navigation is a joy. You drag the map with one finger. To issue a move order, tap an army, then tap the destination. For complex paths, you hold your finger down and trace the route. The game automatically shows movement range in red. Managing 64 settlements as Western Rome is still tedious (it was on PC too), but the touch interface adds a “Province Governor” auto-management toggle for the truly overwhelmed.
