Liran Roll was formed in 1991 in Mexico City by José Antonio Lira Rostro, better known as Toño Lira. Previously, Lira was part of a band called “Blues Boys,” but he left to join “Power Blues,” a group that had won the “Rock en la selva de asfalto” competition, a well-known contest for emerging rock bands. It was this collaboration with Antonio Velázquez (guitar), José Luis Rosas (drums), and Edgar Cruz (bass) that would evolve into what we now know as Liran Roll.
For over three decades, Liran' Roll has remained a pillar of the Mexican rock scene.
