Jamie was thrilled to be a part of the project and quickly rallied a team of volunteers. Together, they worked tirelessly to bring the exhibit to life. They solicited submissions from community members, curated art and performance pieces, and designed an immersive experience that would transport visitors into the world of LGBTQ culture.
Furthermore, the community has led the shift toward gender-affirming language in mainstream society. The widespread introduction of sharing pronouns (he/him, she/her, they/them), the use of honorifics like "Mx.", and the adoption of gender-neutral terms like "sibling" or "folks" stem directly from transgender advocacy for validation and visibility.
