In software like DaVinci Resolve, do not place your LUT at the very end of a single chain and grade on top of it. Instead, build a pipeline: transform your camera log to a working space, do your primary corrections (exposure, white balance) before the LUT, and let the LUT be the final theatrical "film stock" layer.
